Members of the Academy are elected and inducted for their outstanding scholarly contribution to the field of hospitality and tourism management. If you are interested in becoming a HTM Academy member, please contact any of the founding members.

The HTM Academy has three levels of individual memberships

Individual Membership Levels

a.   Academy Fellow: Hospitality and tourism scholars who have at least 30 in Googlescholar h-index and have more than two thirds approval of the existing Academy Fellows. Academy Fellows are expected to take leading roles in running the Academy. President and Vice President shall come from this group; Academy Fellows serve as the Council.

Candidates for Academy Fellows are selected by at least two-thirds (2/3) votes of Academy Fellows.

b.   Associate Academy Fellow: Hospitality and tourism scholars who have at least 15 in Googlescholar h-index and have the approval of more than half of the existing Academy Fellows. To become a member of this group, one should be nominated by an academy fellow.

Candidates for Associate Academy Fellows shall be selected by at least fifty percent votes plus one vote of Academy Fellows.

c.   Junior Fellow: Hospitality and tourism scholars who do not meet the requirements for academy or associate academy fellows. To become a member of this group, one should be nominated by an Academy Fellow or an Associate Academy Fellow.

Candidates for Junior Academy Fellows shall be selected by at least fifty percent votes plus one vote of Academy Fellows and Associate Academy Fellows.

All members of the academy is expected to maintain their Googlescholar profile by making sure that only the publications they authored included in their Googlescholar profile.

Membership Dues: $100 per year

Dues are payable by the members within sixty days after commencement of the fiscal year for which they are assessed. Dues are considered to be in arrears if not remitted by the end of this sixty-day period. Similarly, dues of newly elected members shall be payable within sixty days after the beginning of the fiscal year following the date of election and acceptance.

Failure to remit the dues payment within four months after it is in arrears may constitute due cause for the Council to place the member in the status of inactive member. Members placed in an inactive status may be returned to active status upon payment of all dues in arrears.
